Learn how to start, stop, and reset the chronograph on your Constellation Chrono-Diver. Step-by-step instructions with common mistakes to avoid.
Quick Answer
Press the top pusher to start the chronograph, press it again to stop, then press the bottom pusher to reset. Always reset before starting a new timing.
Why the Chronograph Matters on a Dive Watch
The Constellation Chrono-Diver is a vintage-inspired dive chronograph, so its chronograph function is useful for timing dives, elapsed time, or even parking meters. The subdials at 3 and 9 o'clock track minutes and hours, while the central seconds hand does the timing. Because the watch uses a quartz movement, the chronograph runs accurately without needing manual winding.
Step-by-Step: Using the Chronograph
- Start Timing: Press the top pusher (at 2 o'clock) once. The central seconds hand will begin moving. The subdial at 3 o'clock tracks minutes, and the subdial at 9 o'clock tracks hours. Do not press the bottom pusher while the chronograph is running—it will not reset and may feel stiff.
- Stop Timing: Press the top pusher again to stop the chronograph. Read the elapsed time from the subdials and the central seconds hand. If you need to record multiple intervals, write down the time before resetting.
- Reset to Zero: Press the bottom pusher (at 4 o'clock) to reset all chronograph hands to zero. The central seconds hand should snap back to 12 o'clock, and the subdial hands should return to zero. If the hands do not align perfectly at zero, the watch may need a battery change or service—this is normal for quartz chronographs over time.
About Your Constellation Chrono-Diver
